It’s been ages since paintball graced our TV screens. It’s a frequent topic of conversation among players, always questioning why and how we can get paintball back on television. Well, the wait is almost over—paintball is returning to TV on August 2nd, 3rd, or 4th!

Here’s what you need to know about this exciting development:

The Event Details:

  • Broadcast Dates: August 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, 2024 on ESPN2.
  • Event: The Atlantic City finals, which takes place from June 20th to 23rd, 2024.
  • Coverage: The finals will be filmed and post-produced for TV.

The Ocho:

  • Context: The broadcast will be part of ESPN2’s special programming block known as “The Ocho,” inspired by the cult favorite “Dodgeball” movie.

Production and Broadcast:

  • Involved Parties: Unlike previous broadcasts handled by outside sports companies, this time, the production will be managed by GO Sports and the NXL (National Xball League), ensuring a more authentic and knowledgeable portrayal of the sport. There has been an outside production company hired to help up the quality though.
  • Innovation: There’s potential for innovative camera angles, including the long-discussed barrel cams, thanks to post-production capabilities.
