NXL Las Vegas Open layout is live and ready for action!
The NXL Winter Classic is starting tomorrow, a 5-man tournament, in Kissimmee, Florida. The event layout may give us a little insight into what future NXL layouts will look like. John Dresser of PBnation pointed out earlier today that the NXL has updated their 2017 rules to include the following: 10.3.4 – Players will be eliminated if their chinstrap becomes unfasten during gameplay. 12.1.3 – Eliminations: Failure to wear or fasten goggles chinstrap during the game period. My memory is a bit blurry on this…so take most of what I say with a grain of salt. The video above was from the NXL/PSP World Cup in Orlando. I think in 2004? The sad part is that I was at the tournament 🙂 The NXL then was backed mainly by a Dick Clark owned production company, and the above video was a first attempt to get the NXL televised. It obviously, failed.
The NXL will have a mechanical only division at all the events in 2017. The division will play on Sundays only, entry is $500, 1st place takes home $1,000 and the series winner will win “new mechanical markers” what guns I’m not sure, I assume it will be Empire Resurrections. The NXL 2-Man League is a new amateur paintball league sanctioned by the NXL, hosted by local parks and brought to you by PbNation. Two-player teams will compete at local parks earning a chance to play for $100,000 in cash at the NXL 2-Man World Championships ($50,000 prize goes to the 1st place team with an additional $50,000 being paid out to those who place in the top 20).
