Today, we’re diving into the $400 Etha 3M, a mechanical variant of Planet Eclipse’s brand-new Etah 3.

The standout feature of the Etha 3M is its trigger and valve. It’s essentially an upgraded version of the Emek. Compared to the Emek, the Etha 3M’s trigger and valve are top-notch. The lighter trigger pull and the FL3 valve mean a significant boost in the rate of fire. While the trigger’s post-travel is adjustable, you can’t tweak the pre-travel or activation point.

One downside is the trigger’s shape—its flat, squared design makes it a tad tricky to handle compared to the rounder shapes found in other aftermarket trigger like the Infamous triggers. On the upside, the Etha 3M boasts a tool-less gamma core, simplifying bolt maintenance.

Remarkably, this high-performing paintball gun, priced at just $400, comes with a 14.5-inch barrel and a POPS on/off ASA, enhancing its overall usability. The longer barrel significantly reduces noise, and the POPS on/off streamlines tank handling.

Additionally, the switch to an aluminum feed neck from the previous glass-reinforced nylon one brings a more solid and reassuring feel. Despite the PAL system’s presence, optimized for specific hoppers and feed necks, many users prefer electric hoppers, making the aluminum feed neck a more practical choice.

The Etha 3M’s evolution showcases how paintball technology has vastly improved over the last 10 years. A $400 marker today competes with and sometimes outperforms $1500 counterparts from years ago. That’s impressive progress in the paintball world!
